We are very much looking forward to meeting former cabinet minister David Blunkett next week when he comes to Chilwell for a public meeting. He will be talking about Labour’s alternative to austerity and the challenge of a post-Coalition Britain. Mr Blunkett – who served as Home Secretary, Education Secretary and Work and Pensions Secretary in Tony Blair’s Government – will also share his views on the performance of the Coalition and about Labour’s task in rebuilding trust and support. In addition he will reflect on his experiences in public life over the past 40 years.
The meeting will be chaired by Nick Palmer and is open to members of the public, so do come along and bring your friends. I’ll certainly be there.
The meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday 2nd February at Inham Nook Methodist Church on the corner of Inham Road and Pearson Avenue, Chilwell, NG9 4GQ, in Chilwell West Ward. More details on Broxtowe Labour’s website.
